The project was granted by the European Cultural Foundation through the STEP beyond mobility fund.

The project is based on the co-operation of Russian and international artists working together during the visit to Italy. The result activities of the project will be organizing International exhibitions in Russia and in Italy.

The main aim of the visit is to get in contact with international artists in Italy, establish links with art organisations, work together in a studio and discuss the possibilities to initiate an international art project that will culminate in the end with international exhibitions.

Our international co-operation partner is an English artist Hannah Thompson. She has 16 years experience as a scenic artist and designer for theatre, television and film in London, Sydney and New York. She has recently relocated to Italy and has renovated and prepared her house and studio to accommodate artists and students of art. She has been living in Italy for over 3 years and has been networking with other artists in the Orvieto area, they consist of Italians, Germans and English artists. She is intended to collaborate with international artists and is eager to get her assistance and support in our mission as well as to take part in the international project we are going to maintain. More over she presents a unique artist with her own individual vision in painting and it will be interesting for artists from the centre “Mistellius” to get in contact with her to share ideas.

During our visit to Hannah’s studio we are going to get in contact with local artists and art organisations and to develop the international project. The visit will be a first step of exploring on the Italian reality and art life as well as an opportunity to get to know each other through art practice, talks and discussions. The artists will exchange knowledge, skills and ideas, visit different places, work in the studio.

As the resulting activities of the international art project will be organising international exhibitions in Italy and in Russia. These exhibitions will present the art works created by artists working in co-operation during the visit.The planning exhibitions in the framework of the project will be a direct result from the visit to Italy that we will carry out the direct contact with the local artists, the exchange with local artists, and the artistic research.

The project will help the artists from different countries establish relationship and develop the networking of international exchange opportunities for promotion contemporary visual art.
